polishing with a rotary question...

when do you know that a polish is broken down? I use Mothers PowerPolish- should I polish till it dusts or wipe it off while its still wet? If youoverwork a polish do you have to worry about creating more swirls?

Generally, yeah. At least with the polishes I use. I try not to dry-buff anything, especially with the rotary. I know some people *do* polish-til-dust but I think it's with products I don't use and most often with the PC.

But then I don't use the Mother's polish either so what do I know?

But I always try to quit working my abrasives while they're still a little wet.

Some products (like Meg's #80) change from opaque colored to basically clear when they've broken down. Others, like the 3M stuff I usually use, don't give you that kind of clue, you just have to develop a little working knowledge. With those, if I stop just before they're dry it seems to work great.

i like to take it just before dust with my rotary or i find when at dust it really opens the door to "hologramming"
