Polishing windshield

My mom's 6 year old van has wiper blade marks (swirls/scratches) on the windshield, so even if I clean it REALLY well, it's not perfectly clear.



Will a glass polish such as Autoglym + a cutting pad w/ PC be able to fix it? Or would I need to wetsand it, and if I did wetsand it, how would I get out the sanding marks?
