Polishing Video

This is a video of me polishing on a Porsche Speedster.....I apologize for there being no sound, it somehow got left out in the conversion process. I'm a noob at this video stuff so I hope I can figure out what happened and correct it.

Basically I am using OC and OCP with my Dewalt, and I think also the Metabo and a green pad. This is step 2 in my process.

I'll be posting up more in the near future and hopefully I can get audio working also, or at least record audio over it.

Nice clip man!

I too had sound for that clip.

What pad were you using in the clip? Propel P2?

Hmm..does appear sound came through but I need to adjust it somehow.....back to the drawing board:think2

It's a green Optimum pad I am using.....which could be the same as the Propel.

Thanks guys,

Anthony

"Why tape it off? What's the challenge in that!!??"

I luv it. :grinno:

Great job, good demo. That car looks like a hot ticket.

Your pad(s) appears to follow the contours of the Porch [SIC] very nicely. I assume that's the traditional yellow flex backing plate. Can we verify what the pad is and the source? I am intrigued.

Thanks, Anthony! You da best !!

Get a haircut you hippy! :D :D

I watched it on a computer that didnt even have sound because of the no sound comment you made. I'll watch it again at home.

Hey thanks people for the positive replies.....I was testing the waters before I made anymore:chuckle:

Hey thanks Tom,

I got the backing plate from TOL andyes it's the flex-plate. Works nicely but I have noticed that the velcro seems to lose its bite after a bit. My Metabo plate is twice as old and holds like a vise-grip....I've actually ripped off the velcro from pads removing them from the Metabo plate.

The green pad is the same as the Propel pad I believe...or the Sonus pad....I can't be positive though.

I found out my audio problem....I wear headphones when playing games on my PC and I was waiting for the sound to come out of my speakers:chuckle:

Anywhere between 1200 and 1400 rpm's.

Thanks again for the encouragement:D

I'll have two more up soon.

Thanks for the Vid Anthony! Have you tried grabbing a tripod and shooting it above or an angle above the panel? Maybe with Halos On?

Thanks for posting .... helps to un-demonize (if that's a word?) the rotary "beast" ...

It demonstates 2 very important but subtle things:

1) how light your pressure is pushing on the panel

2) how small an area you are polishing in each application

Thanks again for sharing.
