Sorry, but there is plenty wrong with the power of ammonia. No flames intended, but while ammonia is great for the home, as Koy said it is harmful to many car surfaces like leather, vinyl, & rubber. Also, using ammonia on the inside of your car windows is harmful to your health.

i have been using stoners with good results but today i bought some eo 20/20 and will try using number 34 fi, keep u guys posted

I agree with articwhite in that Stoner's is the best with Sprayway coming in a close second. I have found that Stoner's works best when you are forced to clean windows outside in the sun. Any product will work better if you can manage to use it in the shade so the glass is cool. Also, if you haven't tried microfiber cloths for window cleaning, you are really missing out on a great new product! I sell Zaino and other detailing products and found that you can buy the Sprayway product in a house brand called Progrip from Safelite Glass locations. Safelite is a national chain of autoglass suppliers to body shops. I called Sprayway and confirmed that the Progrip is exactly the same as Sprayway #50. The big difference is that the Progrip is much, much less expensive than Sprayway branded product. I have found that after Sprayway or Stoner's, you will never touch Windex or most other "grocery store" products again. I now use the leftover Windex that I have for lubing while using a clay bar.

The grocery store is where I buy my Sprayway @ $2.00 a can. Is Progrip even cheaper than that? There are plenty of Safelite shops locally.

BTW, I think Arcticwhite feels Sprayway is best followed by Stoner's a close second. I like Sprayway better as I had streaking of interior glass when I used the Stoner's.

When cleaning glass, do you press hard and really work the glass cleaner (I use Stoner's), or do you just spray the cleaner and wipe around until it stops hazing?

RIC and arcticwhite, pardon my dislexia regarding arctic's preference between Sprayway and Stoner's. I still think the Stoner's has the edge, but it's very slight and mostly when the glass is warmer. Regarding the Progrip, I buy it by the case and it's less than the price you mentioned but I don't want to reveal Safelite pricing, just as a professional courtesy to them. When I went to them to purchase, I just took a printout of an internet ad for Sprayway and asked them nicely if I could get the Progrip for less. They were real helpful and made me a great deal, plus, as a dealer with a resale tax certificate, I didn't pay sales tax on the Progrip. I sell the Progrip for $3.00 a can and have never had a problem moving it as most of my customers like the convenience of getting their Zaino, nice towels, etc all at once. Works out very well for all concerned.

1/3 mix of filtered water, vinegar, and alcohol. Seems to work really well, but not everyone like the smell of vinegar, so you can leave that out if you wish.

Hey guys. So my friend approached me and is interested in having me do a quick detail for his old Honda Civic before he sells it. I had a look today and the thing is quite a POS. His rear bumper is being held together by ziplocks(I think that is what they are called?) and the paint is kind of stripped and even gone on some of it. I was wondering if I should just skip polishing it and just apply BFWD where the paint still is or just lightly go over with M205 using my hand. He doesn't really care if i take paint off or anything, he just wants the car to be cleaned up so he can get 2 grand out of it. Any suggestions?

What are you getting out of it? If the car truely is a POS, I would give it a wash and quick wax. That's about it.

Well he has some light scraches on the painted part of the bumper that he would like to get rid off. But I might just go with the wash and wax or BFWD. or the DA:D

And yeah Zipties!!! thats what they are called. I pretty much couldnt decide between laughing or grimacing at the sight. The trunk doenst close all the way either...so i feel like ill have to block the gap with something to keep water from drenching the trunk.

yeah I was shocked as well. He bought the car about 3 months ago so he would have better gas mileage, but he is selling it to buy a Bronco. He'd be lucky to get $800 for it. He just wants a quick clean up to get rid of the water spots and dust. I honestly couldn't do anything to it to make it look nice. I don't even know if anyone on here could either. I'll post some pics when I get it Friday.

I was looking at a truck today in the parking lot of our office and it couldn't have been more then 5 years old. But that paint was WRECKED. Primer showing... What was left was so dry it looked like a desert. Don't know what the hell that guy did to his paint.
