polishing out the plastics on a quad

can it be done? and if so, what polish/pad/machine combo will work best...trying to save the guy 500 for a new set...I have never polished plastics before other than headlights...same type of thing?

The plastic on my quad is too badly scratched(gouged) to buff. I just glaze it every now and then. Is your platic shiny/glossy? If so, try a wool pad at low speeds.

its not mine, its for a client...I have a scrap piece to play with and if its worth it, then I will get to work on the quad..but if not, he is buying new pieces for 500

PFW and polishes it is...

NO DICE...tried OC/wool, OC/orange foam, 105wool, 105orange foam...nothing even touched it...just clean it

looks like he is buying a new set

They sell kits at many different shops also Parts Unlimited catalog has it available there is a kit with sandpaper and various polishes it fairly cheap I believe under $50 I used it on a 04 660 raptor and it came out fantastic as far as automotive compounds and polishes I have no experience with those on an ATV just never tried it. . .hope this helps and good luck
