Polishing a Black Car in the Hot Sun.

I am detailing a black car this week while the owner is out of town. Of course this is the hottest week of the Summer. When I tried to polish, the extremely hot surface dried the polish as soon as I spread the polish, I would basically be dry buffing if I continued. Even with the little shade I have, the surface would be hot to the touch.

What do you guys do who do not work indoors and have an appointment you really cannot reschedule?

Meguiars M100, Optimum OHC/OHP, Rupes Keramik Gloss and 3D HD Polish will work in the sun.

I try to set up my schedule so I'm not compounding between 11 am and 2 pm if at all possible or the customer has a garage we can work in. But I've done lots of cars in the full sun too. Too windy here most days to have a tent set-up without carrying a couple hundred pounds of material to anchor a tent.

postpone it until there is a garage to work in.

Paint correction shouldnt be done in the sun nor outdoors.  You will always be dealing with the elements and dirt/dust will be flying around constantly.  And as you have seen, the temps on the paint get too hot for proper polishing.
