Polished The Legend Again--Christmas Light ******Pics******

91LSMAN

2002 Chevrolet Corvette
Well, the swirls on my Legend were making me nuts. I was off today and was prepared to polish.

My Process:

Sunday:
Remove Front License Plate
Remove Fog Light Covers
Wash

Monday:
Clay a few areas
SSR2.5
EX x2
Natty's

Yeah, Yeah, I know. I didn't let Ex cure-I don't have time for that right now. Each coat of EX sat on my Legend for about 30min before I buffed it off. When I was able to take pics it was starting to get dark, and I've been trying to take nicer night pics, so I turned on the Christmas lights and gave it a shot-there not perfect, but I'm getting better after buying a tripod. Anyhoo-here are the pics:

One way or another the front license plate will go back on tomorrow evening. I hate the OEM bracket that covers part of the bumper, so my dad is making a set of brackets that will hang the plate below the bumper. I have the brackets now, but the holes are in the wrong spots, so he is re-drilling them tomorrow-hopefully that will work, if not I'll go back to the OEM bracket for now.

Thanks for Looking.

looks great. What did you use to apply the ssr 2.5 and what pad? Same thing for the ex. what did you use? i wanna buy them tomorrow. Good job!

SSR2.5-Polishing Pad
EX-Finishing Pad

The site I bought my pads from now sells a different kind of pad, they are different colors. So I would just look for a polishing pad and a finishing pad.

Thanks

very nice work, the Christmas lights really show-off the gloss in the pic of the LR quarter.

Next time try taking some pics with just the parking lights on & wet the driveway down.

Thanks-I'm still experimenting with what works best for lighting at night. Last week I found out my camera has settings I didn't know it had. LOL

Looks good as always. I would like to see before pictures for proof of swirls. J/K.

I like the christmas lights.

Thanks. I was thinking of taking some before pics before I polished this morning but there was only fog and frost outside. There was no way I could get good enough lighting to get the swirls. Heck I have not even seen the result in total daylight yet. :)

For anyone that cares:

The new license plate bracket is done and fits great!! The license plate now sits under the bumper instead of blocking the lines of the car and scratching the paint:

Here are a couple daytime pics I took this morning before I left for work. You can see the shine a bit better in these. :hah

Car looks great and it looks like a beautiful day from the reflections of the sky;)

Thanks-yeah it was gettin there-LOL. It had rained all night and was starting to dry up. The bad thing is the roads were still slightly damp. I had many stops to make yesterday and every time I got out of the car there was a very little bit of spray on the paint right next to the tires. It's a good thing I brought the spray and wipe with me. Every time I got out I spray and wiped the "four corners". :)

Nice work. After my winter setup, I'll be posting some xmas light pics. Great idea, we should have a separate thread for em.
