I am trying to figure out if my wheels' lips are polished or clearcoated. I thought that they were polished because there is a line between the face and the lip where the color is different but when I tried to polish the lip with an aluminum polish my pad did not turn black. Does the polish turn black instantly or only after 5 minutes of rubbing?
I tried SSR3 next and it didn't seem to do anything. Are clearcoated wheels a lot harder to "repair"? Should I bother with mother's powerball or maybe take some sandpaper to them?
