polish/Waxing your car the day after wash?

I am in the process of polishing my car. It's outside right now and i am 70% done polishing it. Would it be OK to finish polishing it tomorrow morning without washing it again? It is not supposed to rain or anything and I do not plan on driving the car at all until tomorrow night. I am not sure about this so enlighten me!

At the very least I would use a QD. The risk is any dust or dirt will be ground into the paint creating more swirls.
