For this review I’m going to share my experience using Polish Angel’s Esclate Lotion as part of my DD’s autumn prep-routine.

From Autopia’s copy for Polish Angel
Esclate Lotion:

Polish Angel Esclate Lotion is a paint cleansing cream designed to restore shine and intensity of color on your vehicle’s painted, chrome, and aluminum surfaces. This unique formula doesn’t just glaze over and fill imperfections, but actually targets light scratches and swirls marks, smoothing them out and eliminating them. Polish Angel Esclate Lotion removes impurities and old waxes so that you can work toward a perfectly reflective paint surface.

Now it’s been awhile since I last did a full detail on this car. I could easily see the paint was suffering from a bad case of water spots and was totally contaminated - the baggie test felt like 80 grit sandpaper! But other than a few
lite scratches I couldn’t find any major defects or issues that required polishing.

In general, if your paint is already in good shape using a paint cleansing cream/ pre-wax cleaner or glaze is a great way to save time, while maximizing the depth and clarity of your paint prior to applying a new LSP.

After washing the car down, I decided to use an ultra fine traditional clay instead of my “fine grade”
nanoskin wash mitt in an effort to avoid marring the paint as much as possible:

Directions on PA’s website:
1. Shake well before use - Check.
2. Apply by hand with a pre-wax applicator pad, or by machine with a finishing pad - Check
3. Buff off with a clean dry microfibre cloth - Check

I apply a few small drops of
Esclate Lotion to a finishing pad and get to work on a test spot:

All in all, it took around 90 minutes and ~1/4 of the bottle to go over the entire car with Polish Angel
Esclate Lotion.

Cost
Make no mistake, Polish Angel
Esclate Lotion is a premium product hand made in Germany. And as such it commands a premium price: a single 200ml (6.8 US fluid oz) bottle of Polish Angel Esclate Lotion cost $29.99 or $4.44 per oz. :wow:

Conclusion
As I`ve
shown, Polish Angel Esclate Lotion is easy to use, and does a very good job at preparing the paint for your favorite LSP. Is it the perfect replacement for polishing your paint? No it is not. Although I was able to remove the majority of water spots, there still some left that Esclate Lotion didn’t touch. And I’m ok with that. After all this is a chemical paint cleaner not an abrasive polish.

Additional Observations:
Most detailing chemicals give me headaches. It’s a fact of life I’ve gotten used to and wear a 3M Paint Project Respirator whenever I’m compounding, polishing, or applying a coating in my garage. Thankfully however after using Polish Angel
Esclate Lotion w/o a respirator I did not get a headache. A fact I wanted to share since I know others suffer from post detail headaches like I do.

Hope you enjoyed this review!
