Po85u = Fpii ?

i've searched and read...comments are either conflicting or i am just sick of trying to decipher the Menzerna #'s vs. the US based products.

i love FPII...is the PO85U the same...or some other variant?

IMO PO85U is FPII.

When do you use FPII instead of PO106FF or RD3.01?

I don't know if having Power Gloss, RD3.01, RD3.02, PO91L, PO106FF, PO106FA, PO85RE5 I should try FPII. What do you think?:nixweiss

digging this one back up...

i used both the PO85U and FPII side by side a few days ago on a black vehicle. they are definitely different...perhaps slight...but FPII is by far my favorite.

PO85U is white in color...FPII is the bluish gray. FPII finished off much nicer on this particular vehicle...i couldn't get the PO85U to clear up the paint easily. it was very warm and humid, so perhaps the two react differently to that situation as well.

i wish i could have snapped a few pics to show the difference. this was using a PC w/ 5.5" white LC pads.

i wish my PO85U 32oz bottle could magically turn into FPII now. :(

Wow, so perhaps the CMA hyperbole about the FPII is true:

Customized for the US market: We asked Menzerna to customize this polish for the enthusiast to better polish factory cured paints. The stock, OEM Final Polish formula from Menzerna was made for the assembly line for use on fresh paint. It dried to quickly when used to polish cured paints. Menzerna increased the lubricating oils already in the formula to keep the product wetter, longer, allowing extended polishing. This change makes the polish more user friendly and is a huge advantage if you live in a climate of high heat and/or humidity (Florida, Texas, Arizona, etc.). Note: We identified this improvement by adding Roman Numeral II (version 2) to our consumer Final Polish label. We no longer offer the OEM Final Polish (PO-85U) although it is still used by body shops on fresh paint and is offered by other e-retailers to the general public.
