Po83---->po106fa----?

After doing some evaluation on my 1995 Lexus SC300..i decided i should go ahead and do a three step polishing process. Right now my plan goes for polishing as:

PO83+LC Orange/White

PO106FA+LC White/Gray

after the second step..I can't decide on what to use..PO106FF? or PO85?...and should i use a blue/gray pad? or go to red?

i'm using a PC btw
 
I have great results using the following process:



SIP: Orange LC

IP: White

85RD: Blue

Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze: MF Towel

FMJ: Red

I think you're right.

IP and SIP should be about the same, but they are designed for different hardness clearcoats.

Additionally, I believe going from 106ff to 106fa would be redundant too. In terms of cut, they should be about the same.

Lots of people follow 106FF with Ultrafina on a blue pad.

I could be wrong, but just going with a gut response here.....

You are correct. My error in typing. The IP is used first as it removes 2000 grit marks, followed by the SIP which will remove 2500 grit marks. The 85RD also removes up to 2500 grit, however, I think it works well to remove any remaining light imperfections.

I believe that would be backwards. I would skip IP totally and not even include it in the process. SIP to 106ff to ultrafina or something will be sufficient.



I believe SIP will have more cut than IP regardless of the hardness of the clear.
 
What is the number for SIP? I have some Menzerna I traded for but I think the guy might have mislabled the bottle. (edit) I have the correct stuff-I found the part number.

On softer clears, yes. But I usualy works on harder clears and then PO106FA will finish out very nice.
