Pls help

Whats up people? I have a problem. Im trying to detail my friends black Mustang. The paint is pretty bad. Little oxidation on the hood. And the whole car is rough. What are the steps you guys would do on this situation? I was going to use Mothers clay then use Megs #7 and Megs #26 on top of the Megs#7. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

You need to use a polish before it. Something like Deep Crystal Polish, another Meguiar's product.



Then lastly use the #26.

Actually, I think you mean Deep Crystal Cleaner... The DC Polish is the consumer equivalent of Meguiar's #7.

I would try Meguiar's #9 (or maybe DC Cleaner) on a small area of the car first and see if it's strong enough to make a satisfactory improvement. If not, then step up the abrasive level to something like DACP or 3M Finesse It II or 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Comp. Then follow that up with #9, followed by #7 (optional), then #26.
