Plexus....first of all, how does this stuff work on tinted windows?? Secondly, my headlights (before I had them wetsanded and polished by my uncle's station) were quite yellow and are perfect now. However, I can see a tiny bit of yellow creeping back in on the edges....Will this stuff remove it? Basically, how does this stuff do on cleaning clear plastics and is it worth buying??

I've only heard good about Plexus. A lot of people in the UK use it because it is readily available.

It should clean that yellow creeping back on your headlamps.

It's a spray, of course, a bit oily feeling, it takes a proper microfiber towel to do the job right. You wipe the substance in, polish, polish, polish with light pressure and it comes off perfectly with no streaks.

Its just like Windex, but it takes a bit longer.

Spray, wipe, wipe, wipe... Finished :)

If you want to really get clean. I'm not sure of the brands and the prices (But they are expensive)...

But goto your local airplane "shop" and ask for some of their window/plastic cleaners. Those sprays and cleaners make normal window/plastic cleaners look like water.

I saw a demo done once, and they just finished washing a window with soap and they made it clear.

THen they sprayed that stuff on and the white towel turned black. THen the window looked like it wasn't there anymore.

I don't know the name but i'm sure every aeroplane product is of this strength.

Thats all the information I pulled from the previous post.

Sorry!

£79.95 a can (1lb aerosol)

They normally only sell the stuff to preparatory companies and manufacturers.

It has an additive that absorbs diesel, the stuff that 'yellows' our PP8 headlamps. you have to 'close' the surface after using this stuff (Mer is best)"

I own a Honda S2000 and it has a vinyl rear window. Plexus is the best product that I've found for maintaining a clean and clear window. Spray it on, then use a high quality microfiber towel to work the product into the window and to polish. It also reduces the static charge on the plastic surface so that dirt is NOT attracted to it. :xyxthumbs

:) Excellent product. Ask the US Air Farce, which mandates certain canopys be cleaned and treated only with Plexus. I use it on all light covers along with the instrument cover.

Where is a good place to get it from?

There seems to be two threads about this product here:

Plexus is good stuff for tinted windows, it is a bit more difficult to use than a Windex type product (although I prefer Wurth Glass Cleaner) in that it reacts more like a wax, smears a bit and needs to be rubbed off. But it really isn't that big a deal. It is great on any plastic surface such as light covers...but seems to really excell when it comes to the rear plastic windows on convertibles such as the Honda S2000's rear window to help remove fine scratches and hazing.

As to where to buy it, I'm not sure what "brick and mortor" retailers are carrying it. I'm not sure if I can say this, but we carry it at the store I work for, and I know several other online companies sell it such as http://www.properautocare.com/index.html, and a lot of my customers seem to really like the product.

:D
