I had readed many forum on here about water spots(hard), but i can't just figure what to do first. I have a white '05 sienna van w/privacy glass. First off: I have alot of spots on all my glass, went to detailer and they say it is possible to get out but will take a whole day and will be costly. He say the glass is rough. You can see the spot if you walk by the car, even at night. For the front windsheild, spot can be seen, but minimum. For the paint, i can see alot of spots up close but fare can't. The paint also have some dirt lines at the back that got dry up and can't wash off.

I tried vinigar 50/50 and 100% on glass and paint but no good and also mother's chrome polish on glass with no good.

Please give me advice for this problem and items that i should get to complete the task.

I will up load some picture soon!

thank you

I was able to remove hard water spots on the windows of my dad's van with AIO and an orange pad on a Wolfgang Polishin' Pal http://www.autogeek.net/polishing-pal.html . It took a while, but eventually it did work. My dad has probably washed his minivan less than a dozen times, but he's never dried it. The sun dries it. That should give you an idea of how bad they were.

The same process should work on the paint, but I'd opt for using a moderate polish like Poorboy's SSR2.5 with a cutting pad on a PC.

Chances are since you're new here, you don't have any of the above-mentioned things, and you probably don't know what all those abbreviations mean.

PC = Porter Cable 7424/7336sp random orbital polisher

SSR2.5 = an abrasive polish, best used with a PC or rotary polisher

AIO = Klasse All In One. It's a strong paint cleaner, that also works on glass, chrome, and plastic.
