platinum on top of SG?

As long as you don't use the paint cleaning Platinum then you should be fine. Its carnubas that you don't want to have sandwiched between polymer layers. Platinum on SG would work very well I believe.
 
Yeah, Platinum works great on top of SG. I had 3 coats of AIO and 3 coats of SG before topping it with 6 coats of Platinum UPP. Here are the pics on an Onyx Black Avalanche:

#7-18 are with 3 coats of Platinum, #24-27 are with 5 coats. Still looks good a month later, and I really like the Platinum wash and QD, but will be switching to Zaino really soon. Why? Mainly, I still haven't seen that look of molten glass on the black paint, regardless of whether some people think that much reflectivity is good for black. We'll just have to see how it goes!
 
Beach15, When do you think you will be doing the switchover to Z? Takes lots of comparison pics please.
 
Will do! I would have liked to do it in a week or so, but probably will be doing the "Z'ing" the day before we go on a trip up to Pennsylvania on August 2nd. So, I'd say shoot for the 1st, and I should have quite a few new pics.



With so much Klasse and Platinum on there, I think I'd need something more than just Dawn, but I'm not going any further. I'm Dawn washing, claying, Z-7 washing, Z-6'ing, and then applying 3 coats of Z-5 with Z-FX. Hope it all goes well!
