Plastic "Bug Deflector" ... M105 Strikes Again!

I had a Ford Escape today with a black plastic bug shield on the front of the hood. It was so scratched up and dull it actually looked like it had been wet-sanded!!!

So I thought... Hey...I'll just try some 105 on that!

I can't believe how easy it was... nothing else necessary except for a little coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond after the polishing.

It took about 5 minutes to polish this.

Tools of the Trade:

PC, 3.5" backing plate, 4" constant pressure pad.

Still had some bug juice etching and rock chips but looks a whole lot better.

M105 continues to be one of the most versatile products to use with the PC
.:D

Another great one for M105! I know that pad ...:DThanks Bill for your idea and sharing it here with us at TID.

I can't believe how soft that plastic is. I don't have them on any of my personal cars, but I'll bet after a few times wiping it with a microfiber, it looks "satin".

Pretty much. Mine is 6 years old. I really need to take if off and do the backside of it too. You can see how faded the back is when you polish out the front.

Thanks for sharing more uses for M105 Bill. I sometimes think there is nothing that M105 can't do. I have the same exact setup using the small BP and those same 4" pads on one of my older PCs.

I use that setup on the following:

Taillight and headlight lenses.
Spot polishing deeper RIDS or scratches.
Polishing out smaller wetsanding areas.
A pillar painted area between the windshield and side glass.

I just prime the entire face of the 4" pad w/ 105 KBM style, apply 1-2 small dots of 105 and polish all my troubles away.

I agree... one of the most versatile products I've ever used.

I've even used it on stubborn bathroom tile!!!!:D (You should have seen my wife's face when she walked into the bathroom and I had the PC fired up polishing the shower!)
