This is my setup.

Step 1: Wash the car.

Step 2: Clay using Mother's Clay.

Step 3: Rewash-rinse-dry.

Step 4: Use PB SSR2.5 with a EDGE polishing pad using a PC 7424 to get rid of some light to medium scratches on my hood. (if no results, switch to a light cut pad with SSR2.5).

Step 5: Use PB SSR1 with a EDGE polishing pad to get rid of any hazing and restore some gloss in the paint.

Step 6: Apply Liquid Glass using an EDGE finishing pad.

Step 7: Have a beer and enjoy!

I'll be working on a black 96 impala SS with the paint in relatively good condition.

Questions:

Do edge pads (or any foam pads) provide enough cut when polishing using SSR2.5 to restore paint defects?

From what i have heard, Liquid Glass is a decent product and really acts as an acrylic sealant more so then a wax that still provides a pretty deep shine. Basically, am i ready to put a sealant (Liquid Glass) on after i apply the PB SSR1?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

There is no reason to re-wash the car if you are using the clay kit that has the quick detailer spray...Foam pads can cut very well with the SSR2.5 just make sure that you are using a cutting pad...they rest of you plan seem right in line...Good luck

Welcome to the site! IMO using a cutting pad with SSR2.5 isn't needed or effective. I find that cutting pads leave a lot of micromarring with could be difficult to remove at times. SSR2.5 and a polishing pad could leave you ready to apply your sealant or wax. But the SSR1 after is a very good idea and would be worth it. Don't be afraid of using speed :). I haven't used Liquid Glass before, but if you follow the directions I'm sure it'll look great.

One more thing ... pictures. The '96 Impala is on of my favorite cars. :).
