Pinstriping: Are there end-caps?

They use to put fancy ends (arrow heads are some I've seen) in kits back in the day but no one used them. I honestly don't know if these are still available or not. It's too easy to manipulate the tape and form an end as desired. You can do pinwheels with a good tape like 3M or ProStripe. Often times tapers will just do a rounded end or taper cut on the end that matches the slope of which ever end of the car they are on. This is method I've used on the last couple I have done. Too easy.

I like using a twin stripe with a top stripe that is thinner than the bottom stripe. Several widths are available. The thin top stripe is very easy to work with. I'd tell you to buy a roll with plenty of material. Give yourself plenty so you can play with it. The worst that can happen is pulling it off of one fender and matching it with where you left off and starting over. Having extra will also make sure you have some should you ever have damage and need to match.

There's a few youtube vids on the web that show the basics, and how to finish ends to some degree on striping.

There are some, but slim pickings. I have in worked on body shops since the 70's and applied a great deal of pinstripes and to be honest, you do a better job of bringing the pinstripe to a simple point, rather the using the end caps. You need to think later down the road with washing and waxing how the ends of the tape or the ends caps start to curl up.
