Hello everyone. I got this canopy today at WalMart. Its 10x10 and has about a 7 foot clearance. The price was 88 bucks plus tax. Myself and my buddy Nick (MrRogue) put it up and snapped some pics.

Enjoy!

pretty nice. How long did it take to put up and close again?

It took 2 of us about 2-3 minutes to raise it up. I assume it will take me about 5-10 to raise it up myself.

I am assuming that was only for picture purposes, but I have seen those things go flying without any weight to hold them down on the corners. Looks like an excellent buy with a great price.

Glad to see you decided to go threw with the canopy purchase Greg. I definitly recommend the weight bags. I take 2 and stagger them at different corners, the tent has never moved this way filled with about 30 lbs of sand each. Are you going to get some type of banner?

I agree, you definitely need weight on it. I've also seen them blow over and hit other people’s cars.
Here is what I did for weights. I went to Home Depot and purchased some 4-inch PVC pipe, some cap ends, Velcro and one bag of quick drying instant cement. I cut four pieces to 16 inch in length and then glued on cap on the bottom of each. I filled each with cement and let them dry, making sure the top was level and smooth. After it dried, I glued a top cap on it. I then use the Velcro to keep them on each of the four corners. They weigh almost 18 lbs. each and the canopy does not move, even on a windy day.

By the way, check out the banner. I can recommend this vendor. He charged me $70 w/shipping for the 2'X6' banner. Heavy duty vinyl and six grommets. Very easy to attach with just some bungee cords.

I went with a small 8'X8' canopy just for car shows, but you get the idea.

When you are using the canopy to detail, you might also want to get some of that foam pipe insulation from Home Depot. The kind that goes over water pipes to prevent freezing. It is in the plumbing section. They sell them in 6' and 8' lengths with it cut down the center. You can very easily put these around the legs of the canopy to prevent any small dings or nicks.

Just a thought.

alternative is if you have 4 3.5gall bucket filled with water and tie up each leg with one bucket....

canopy looks good Greg!!!
good thing you purchased the straight leg and not slanted....imho

It was a calm day, and yea, it was just to see how quick it went up and down, and see how tall it was compared to his car. it only stayed up for 5 min then right back down again.

I was thinking just some sand bags, but that would be a pain to drag around and get sand all over your car transporting them. the water would be nice idea, since usally if your washing your car, theres water around, and its easy clean up, so you dont have to drag it around with you. I was also thinking just like a brick or somthing, but then you would probally be stubbing your toes on that all the time. Bucket idea so far is the best I have heard.

I plan on doing something like the above. I will get the tube and fill it with sand, I will probably just do 2, one on each opposite sides. Sound good?

I just used this on a detail I just did. I will post pics later. I was able to set it up in about 2-3 minutes by myself and take it down in the same amount of time. It was really easy!

I just ordered some canopy weights from dicks sporting goods. They can hold 30lbs in each bag and there is 2 bags per corner. The total cost was 38 Shipped.
