New pics at the bottom
"It's easy to make a dirty car look good, but it's harder to make a clean car look great"
Well, had my car repainted back in the end of August. Since then, I had the car polished (rotary) 3 weeks ago. Some swirls still remained though...I mean my body shop guy can only do so much to detail.
I saw where his problem areas were:
1)Not cleaning the surface completely before polishing the car.
2)Using an old T-shirt to remove remaining polish which ultimately lead to him putting more swirls in the paint.
Anyways, had Saturday free so I decided to go nuts on the paint before Old Mother Winter came upon us...
I did:
-Mother's Gold Car Wash
-Gliptone Swirl Free Polish (to take out the light swirls)
-Klasse AIO
-Klasse SG
-Meguiar's QD
No clay was neccessary since it was polished 3 weeks ago, not to mention the paint is relatively new. The polishing was done by folding a 1' x 1.5' Terry Towel 3 times (8th's) and using it as a large padded applicator. I had to press hard, but using the large padded applicator allowed me to work the polish through each panel with equal pressure to prevent from marring. I worked the polish through each panel 1-2 times depending on the swirls. I also folded the towel each time I started a new panel.
The results are impressing to me. I was extremely pleased. First time with Klasse on my car (have used in the past on others though). While looking at the pics, notice the rear lip for reflections and shine. I think that best shows the change since there was not the best of lighting (sorry).
I will be applying 3-4 more coats of Klasse SG over the next week or so. Have to wait for this rainy weather to improve. Until then, thanks for viewing. Any questions, please search for them first...If you can't find the answer, then post here. All comments are welcomed as well.
Cheers!
