I saw an older thread where Grouse had recommended the Air King blower.

I think he actually picked up a few of the Air King plus models The plus models really must move alot of air as the info states:

Maximum air velocity! Air King is still pushing air 50 feet from the unit!

Anyway I picked up two of the Stanley pivoting blowers from walmart for $40 each. They do carry them in the store. I believe they are the same unit as the standard Air King blower. Tested one of them out in the garage at speed 3 and from 20ft I could still feel the air blowing.

Features & Specifications

The Stanley Blower Fan is perfect for any work area. With a rugged carry handle and ten-foot cord, the unit can easily be moved. Includes two 120 volt grounded outlets.

the faster you get the carpet dry the better....so its worth the 40 bucks IMO

The faster you dry the carpet, the less chance of the soil at the base of the carpet "wicking" back up to the top surface. From what I read you are never going to get 100% of the dirt out. The remaining dirt will be at the base of the carpet. Carpet dries from the top down. So with normal slow air drying, the top of the carpet dries first. Then it pulls the water and dirt from the base of the carpet up to the surface. So the faster you dry to the carpet the less chance is that this will happen.

I went too walmart looking too buy one seen it on display it really didnt give the out put i was looking for seem like no more out put then a reg fan just gonna save for a nice one..

Other than drying interiors(which I'm sure these work great), could anyone see these replacing/substituting the need for a standard circular cooling fan?

David. Only my vornado fans which where $50 each on sale move more air. So if you can find these on clearance they are a great price.

If you go mobile, they are a nice compact size and the 2 outlets are nice to have.
