How can you get in trouble if you are posting the truth? As long as there is sufficient documentation, why not? Call it a smear campaign and companies do it all the time.

Reuse is quite common on the internet (photos and information is often reshown elsewhere as if original) and actually tolerated by many so hard to fix the issue. No one should ever be surprised since many consider what it is on the internet as public domain or just no harm in reusing.



You need to watermark your pics plus if you do it right it adds a professional touch if you have a nice logo, etc.

I fully agree it is not right but unfortunately it is and quite common that most think nothing of it. For photos, there is watermarking but not as easy for the written word.

It kinda sucks but is the nature of the business. I have people still posting work and making a profit two years after.

Looks like half of the photos he had are gone now. Did you call him out on it?

Never ended up calling him, i kept doing c.list searches daily to see if he had any reposts...he never did..and i flagged everyone of his posts that had my pics in it...all were deleted. Then the site that was hosting his pics deleted the pics (and maybe his membership, not sure??) that he stole from me AND from other people...as of now he has not posted any further...if he does, then i make a call.

Really nothing can be done about it. My pics get taken all the time. I hate using a watermark because it ruins the pic in my opinion.

I have done two things to combat it somewhat, 1- Either myself or an employee of mine is in the picture, 2- I have collected a bunch of my stolen work to include photos and copy off my site. I captured them with screen capture software. What I am going to do is start a "Superior Shine Wannabe" page where I can showcase the wannabees. Hopefully that will work.

I forgot, but the day you posted this thread I texted this guy and linked him this thread. I asked him if he put an Ad on Craigs list and that someone is claiming that he stole his pictures to use in his ad. I told him that his company is going to get a bad reputation and he should come here and clear his name. I guess he felt like ignoring this, deleting the your pics which in my estimation means he's a guilty scumbag. I say you put out an ad on Craigslist warning people that this guy is misrepresenting himself.

Reuse...i don't particularly like that term. That sort of softens what it really is to me. Thats kind of like the term rhetoric, it softens the blow by not calling it what it really is. He STOLE the picture..he didn't "reuse" it lol..just like these fools on tv tell LIES, its not rhetoric. I know its common but like Charlie said, it is still not right and if i were to sit back and not say a word that would just in a way condone him diong what he did and encourage others to do the same. I know it won't stop people just cause i or someone else call these guys out on their stealing, but it has to help some...
