permanon coatings

It is definitely some different but really cool stuff.

It is expensive but you have to look at the fact that you only mix around a 5% solution to spray on a car or whatever you are applying it to. And the biggest part is that fact that you can spray / mist it on and simply blow it off. Once it hits the material it bonds and you are done. So this is no need for extra touching of the paint.

I have been able to do a whole care with a Kwazar Mercury Pro + 0.5 Liter Spray Bottle (17 oz.). So it works out nicely and the Kwazar makes a super fine mist pattern for me a hold it. I have been looking into getting a small "paint" sprayer to connect to my air compressor to spray an even finer mist and use less product. That will really help bring the cost down.

It doesn’t like to bond to sealants or waxes very well and so when using it with the them the durability is very short lived and is a total waste in my opinion. It seems to work much better on coatings though where you can get a few weeks or even a months. The best durability I have seen actually reported was when applied to bare paint and using “Dawn” dish soap as the soap to wash it. The durability was a few months. For some reason Permanon doesn’t like soaps with additives, polymers or gloss enhancers.

I think it is a great option for wheels, wheel barrels, wheel wells, and even paint. Basically anywhere where it is hard to get into and wipe on something, or if you just want to limit the amount you are touching you paint.

I mix it 10% to distilled water, spray it on then dry it...that's it! It's about the easiest stuff I ever used.

Can you top it with wax or glaze?

Can you? Yes.

Would I? No.

For me and many others that use it Permanon is more of a final topper to increase slickness and dust repellence (claimed). I have found that the durability is is not there to be used as a my long term sealant. And the whole reason for using Permanon is the coating like aspects of water shedding and increased slickness and dust repellence (claimed). Using a glaze or wax on top of Permanon would be counter productive and would just waste the use of Permanon.

Ease of application is one thing. Is it really more durable and longer lasting than conventional waxes? Say, Collinite 476? Does it really give a full year of paint protection.

The hype is usually what makes me avoid products like these. I don't want to have something on my shelf just to say I own it. I expect it to perform.

Permanon is great for what it is...........A very easy to apply sealant that is quicker and easier to apply than anything. It last a few weeks depending on exposure. It is very expensive to buy and somewhat reasonable to USE if diluted and used properly. The cost is in the conveniece not the durability. I love the looks and ease of use and my DD is wearing planinum until I find the time to polish the car and apply EXO-Just my preference.

My Other family of DD are wearing Opti-Coat becasue nothing takes a beating and keeps looking great like OC and I have no time to mess around with all my cars. I like them looking good with the least amount of effort. The EXO v1 is slightly more delicate and much slicker IMHO but not a durable as OC 2.0.

You ask more durable than colonite-I say No. Adding a glaze or wax-is a waste of time and money -IMHO.

On my short list of things to try are Cquartz and Wolf's HB. I actually have the Cquartz on the shelf and need to apply it to the truck just to see what it is all about.

Good Luck-Permanon is good provided to are not expecting better than sealant durability with super easy application.
