Permanent Tire Shine


I have been using TuffShine and really do like it for Daily Driver durability. It has a good look once you get the application down and it last a long time. I can wash the tires with my normal soap and only have to re-apply every 3-4 months to maintain that fresh look.
 
The word "permanent" is almost always a nonstarter to me when it appears in a product name.

Dear Troy & Friends

I just put my first coat of Tuf Shine on our van's tires. It's been on there long enough for me to have washed the van. I'm certain this is the road to take for dressing tires.

Like you said, not only do you get dressed tires, you also get to skip the tire brush when washing. Regular car wash soap, rinseless wash, and waterless wash with light agitation restores the tires to a just-dressed look.

But I rarely ever get anything right on my first try, and applying Tuf Shine was no exception. I put two heavy coats on the tires without looking at what the first coat yielded. So I'm presently hauling my family around with gangster shine. Our tires look like they have a dozen coats of lacquer on them. I hope the shine will decrease and the deep blackness will remain.

Regarding the word permanent, the word from Tuf Shine is the coating will outlast the tires in most circumstances. I suppose the quality of the finish decreases over time, but some of the coating will be there permanently.
