my boss's caddy w/pearl white may get a detailing treatment...here's some of my products

clay(should use but too labor/time intensive)

megs DACP

megs DC2

megs cleaner/wax

ColorX

NXT

#16

(yes I have drank the meguiars kool-aid!)

what combo do you think will make the pearl white pop and give me a few brownie points??

paints in decent shape...may have had some liquid glass at some time...

Do a search for White95Max he has a pearl white maxima and it looks really good. He has a couple products layered on it right now. I think UPP and PG. He should be in later today lol.

As far as the products you have right now, since I just realised that you prolly don't wanna buy new products just for his car, I would do do the DC2 then nxt, then 16. I have done the NXT+'nuba and it worked great.

If claying a car is too labor/time intensive, then you're probably doing something wrong. It's no more difficult than waxing.

How long would it take you to clay a car? I had our '99 Ford Super Duty (Something like 24-25 feet long, with a cap on the back) fully clayed in about an hour.

As for the products, do you have a PC? If you go with DACP that would be great. I've only used NXT and DC2 and only the NXT had enough to make me want to use it again. Maybe try: clay (45 minutes, tops, on a sedan), DACP, NXT, and if you want to, throw a coat of #16 on the next day. Don't forget to QD first, though :)

If you want the car to "pop", Clay it first. You will have eliminated a lot of contamination and possible micro-marring. Each step is built on the previous one and the overall result is the sum of all you have done. I learned that the hard way. When I first got interested in detailing, I just put polish on without any more prep than washing. The result let me know that I didnt do something.... IMO , prep, prep, prep !

yes I have a PC...I may have a severe time limitation (less than 5hrs) for both interior and exterior...somethings got to give - so I figure lose the clay step...claying would obviously be ideal but.....do you think the NXT will "darken" the pearl in the white??I've used it on my silverstone Z and I do like the shine of the NXT...but does darken a bit more than I like
