Peanut butter.....there has got to be a better way.

I tried the peanut butter trick on my black trim that had wax on it, even though it worked amazingly well there has got to be a better way. When the neighbor kid came over and asked what I was doing I tried to hide the fact I was smearing PB all over my trim. Too funny. What I'm looking for is something OTC (over the counter) I can buy at my local Autozone, etc store. Is there something that will take the old dried wax off my trim?

Thanks for the help.

I would try Meguiars #40 first and if that didn't work i would go with #39, but i have had pretty good luck with #40

Goo Gone with a tooth brush will work.....is there a reason that you can't order online??
PB trim restore is about as good as it gets

no reason I can't order online..................just get tired of waiting and paying the shipping. Any other suggestions on goodies to get from PB's if I order the trim restore?

I only use peanut oil. Same thing as the peanut butter without the goo works great...

any grocery store will have it its real common in Chinese cooking

Don't have any spray and wipe. I'm new at this and have just recently, after reading this board, purchased the PC and Edge pads and several different Meguires cut wax, polish wax and Yellow wax.

Looks like I'll be going to PB's and order more goodies.

Well the spray and wipe is golden for waterless washes and maintaining your car between bucket washes....I would call and talk to Steve he can walk you threw his line up....it doesn't sound like you need allot of things since you have the Megs stuff maybe some odds and ends

Okay, I'll bite. Now that I've got the peanut butter smeared all over my trim, how do I get it off without the greasy aftermess? Maybe this is an easier process than I imagine. Just how do you remove the peanut butter?

wash the car or use some APC to get that off...that's why I like PB TR you can do two things at one time remove wax and condition the plastic

I am also going to throw my vote in the #40 corner.

I know if you have spent enough money in a local auto store Autozone, Napa, CarParts... and they Carry Meguiar's products they may be able to get you the #40... the down side to this would be Meguiar's may have a limit to what to what they ship...for example they most likely will not break up a Case just for a 1Gal. sale.

DuraGloss just released a new product called wax erasor...

It is a liquid with a sponge applicator..was told it was a wax disolver...have not tried it but if like their other products..it works..

the price section is messed up...but better to call anyways....you get that personal touch...

If you use an oil-based OTC dressing such as Armor-All, put it on the trim before you start polishing/waxing. Any polish or wax should wipe away due to the layer of oil on the trim.

i tried TR on some trim that had been stained, although after application the stains were gone.
after the rain washed it off the stains were there again :(

TR is a dressing really than a restorer

This all depends on the condition of the rubber if its really stained badly.....I have found that for rubber like that is to apply and let set...then buff and apply again wait and buff....for the stained parts you want to let it set on there for a while so that it soaks in....IMO....and for some stains nothing is going to fix it, to speak of
