just wondering if anyone has ever applied Zaino Z2 or Z5 with the PC.

i know Zaino doesn't recommend this, but was wondering if anyone has tried it, if the results were favorable.

Just a noobie looking for a tip. thanks.

well I've seen plenty of members using PC when applying LSPs...but I heard you use more than necessary.

I always hand apply all LSPs.

Actually I've found you can use much less than necessary using the PC.

Initially, yes you do use more product, but using the pc does give you a good even, thin coat. The new LC CCS pads are supposed to not absorb as much product, so that might be the way to go.

I always use a pc to apply lsp. Sal Zaino suggest hand application so that you don't waste the product but I will tell you that with the pc you actually use less. Even if you used somewhat more, it is minute amount.

thanks for the input so far guys. i'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens.

pardon me for being naive, but... what exactly does LSP stand for?

Last Step Product. The last product you use, most times a wax or somtimes a sealant.

I think you can get away with less product using a white CCS pad.

I've used a PC with Z-AIO, but not the pure sealants.

I've found that, for sealants like Zaino, a 4" SFX-3 spot pad does the trick. The blue SFX-3 foam doesn't seem to absorb the sealant very far into the pad (the LSP stays near the surface), so the pad primes quickly. I can get 3 or 4 coats from an ounce of ZFXed Zaino.

YMMV, but that's been the pad that has worked best for me.

Either method can be used and both have their advantages.

I normally apply by hand because it is quicker (for me) and I like to rotate the areas on the pad during application. I can get to all the notches and crannies by hand in one session whereas a second go-around is required when using the PC.

I can throw my applicators in the washer whereas I do not like cleaning PC pads using this method.

How to you clean your pads? I've a PC on order, first time user. Normally I wash my applicators with detergents in a bucket.... towels goes to the washer....

PC pads:

I use the same hand technique except in a basin in my garage. Dawn soak, agitate, good rinsing, squeeze until almost dry and allow to air dry.

Zaino application pads go into the washing machine for the particular material being cleaned:

MF pads with MF towels

Cotton pads with cotton towels

^^^ +1 except I dry my pc pads with the pc. Wring the wet pad as much as you can, then place it on the pc and run it at about 3-4 speed until its dry. The tricky part is to not let it fling off the pc. Put a little pressure with your hand/finger to keep it in place. Remember, its a random orbital so it won't hurt you.
