PC Problems with Megs #80

Im still new with the PC, so today I practiced on my moms van, its in pretty bad shape, lots of spiderwebbing and dull paint. I used a green propel pad with megs #80, I started on the hood, after I applied it, I let it haze and proceded to remove it, I almost couldnt get it off, so instead of fighting the #80, I switched to AIO and it worked a lot better. I finished with NXT, it wasnt perfect, but it did look a lot better. :nixweiss

When you use #80, you need to work it until it begins to look clear. At that point, it wipes off with ease.

How much do you put on the pad and how big of working area?

with a polish there , i dont beleive there is any reason to "let it haze", after #80 is worked, its job is done, wipe off right away,

letting it haze is more for waxes and sealants, but not all some are wipe on wipe off, best to reasearch the product and read the directions on the bottle :up

Im with Scott, I generally make 3 passes with 80, and its normally very easy to remove....Thats the beauty of 80, if you do it right its great!

shouldnt be hazzin surely, cos you wanna use it when its "wet" is that the problem? Just follow the guys on this work it till its transparent but don't let it haze really.

Do you need to wipe clean between passes or can you make 2nd and 3rd passes over the haze of the previous?

Apply, work until clear/pink, wipe off while still slightly damp. Inspect, repeat as needed.

With any polish, I'd buff off any residue and see what I have before doing any more work. No point in doing another pass unless you really need to. Can't really inspect it without buffing off any residue so you can see the (clean) paint.

And yeah, I wouldn't let the #80 fully dry, though it shouldn't cause any problems if you've broken it down fully. Might even make the fresh-paint-safe polymers last a little longer if you're using it without some other LSP. But I wipe it off before it dries.
