plan on doing late model accord (hunter/dark metallic green) with moderate swirling and major prob (keyed)

some of the spots where it was keyed go down to primer & metal...some appear to be "surface"/clear....will megs burgandy & dacp do the trick for surface scratches? how aggresive its megs cutting pad?? will megs 80 get rid of marring from dacp?? heres my plan of action:

1. wash

2. megs cutting pad & dacp on keyed area

3. megs polishing pad & dacp over "rough" swirling

4. megs 80 & polishing pad over car

5. megs nxt & finishing pad

no pics...plan on this saturday if weather holds out...please advise...THANKS!

mrzeee- Note that Meg's does *not* endorse using the 7006 with a PC. Many people do it though.

#80 is generally considered the "standard" follow up to use after #83 so it oughta work fine.

this is what I heard and read...but one of the autopia maestro's (my hero Scottwax) seems to have pretty good luck with cutting pad and PC...just hoping to have a 10th of that same success

Oh, I wouldn't be opposed to using it, just don't go posting to MOL asking for solutions if it causes a problem ;) Not that I consider that too likely...just try a small area and see if it's gonna be a bad idea before you do the whole car.

I used the megs cutting pad and #83 followed by#80 on a polishing pad just last week (one pass each). The hood of my '05 F-150 had water spots something bad and this combo removed about 80-85% of those spots :goodjob

DACP and a yellow Lake County 6.5" flat pad has been able to correct almost anything I have needed on my 94 black Mustang that sits out 24/7. I had some severe water spotting that Optimum compound wouldn't take out with the yellow pad and a couple quick passes with the DACP and they were gone. I followed up with Optimum Polish and then VM, but have also had great success with #80 as a follow up polish. I like to use VM as a final finish glaze to bring out that little extra shine that's there to be had before applying my LSP.
