PC and what else???

I am thinking about getting a PC. I mainly want it for light polishing/swirl removal and some waxing. I was just wanting to know what "extras" I should buy? Other than what it comes with, what other pads, counterweights, and accessories should I buy? Keep in mind I am only using it for personal hobby and won't be dealing with too many abused/swirled finishes, so I don't need every pad for every situation, but I do want to know from those of you who are experienced what I should get as a basic start-up. Thanks!

Well Like you I just got bitten by the pc bug and bought one almost 2 months ago. I would definitely suggest getting a pc from lowes(if there is one in your area) and getting the 7336SP which is marketed as a sander/polisher. This will come with the six inch counterweight already. You will need to buy your own backing plate since it doesn't come with one. Lowes' sells them for $109+ tax. Or look into getting one from coastaltools.com. They have the 7424 model which comes with a five inch counterweight and bonus kit of a six inch counterweight and velcro backed pad. To start off I would just buy at least one cutting pad. Two polishing pads and Two finishing pads. You will use the polishing pads the most, so it may not hurt to get an extra. Lake country pads I hear are the best, but I ended up going with the Sonus pads which I believe are 7 inch and a 5 inch flexible backing plate. So far I like this combo. Whatever backing plate you decide on make sure your foam pads are larger. Six inch backing plate with six inch pad is a little risky. I am sure many here will have even better suggestions than I. Good luck.

I recommend that you keep it simple. Buy the 7224, get the Edge adaptor, 2 polishing and 2 finishing pads.

Dwayne will sell you the whole deal, give you a DC discount, free shipping and you'll be supporting the outfit that sponsers this website. Go to www.premiumautocare.com get the phone number and call Dwayne. You can also order some product and towels while you are there and save even more. I honestly think this is your best bet.
