PC and CMA's wool pad

DaGonz

Autopia fire/rescue.
I had a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee to detail today for one of my brother firefighters.

It had a scratch on the hood caused by someone putting a box on it and dragging it off, and a few door hit scratches in the paintwork.

I wet sanded the hood scratch and door hits with 2000 grit wet/dry paper, then broke out the pc with the CMA wool pad and Meguiar's #2 fine cut cleanerand buffed it on 5.

All I can say is ..

wow!

The scratches are 99% gone from the finish. You would have to look real close to see the remainder. I asked my son if he could find them by looking at the car, he couldn't see them until I pointed out where they were!

I buffed the rest of the car with the wool pad and #2, used a polsihing pad with #9 and used the terrycloth bonnet to apply 3 coats of Liquid Glass, followed by a topcoat of S-100 to give the finish a little "warmth".

I am waiting for the owner to come pick it iup...and I think he will be surprised! :xyxthumbs

I hope you told him that you were going to wetsand his car. What kind of scratches are you talking about BTW?

From my original post...

It had a scratch on the hood caused by someone putting a box on it and dragging it off, and a few door hit scratches in the paintwork.

I always check out the vehicles that I detail prior to accepting the job. 99.9% of the time, it's the Client that points out the scratches, chips and other paint defects and ask what can be done about them.

I inform them of the options, and go from there....
