PC 7424XP Best value as a kit purchase?

OK settled on getting a Porter Cable 7424XP... and have found decent prices for it as a stand alone product.

Questions: 1. is there a way better value in buying it as a kit as some sites offer? If so where and what kits? If not, what other items should I put on the "get" list?

2. I see reference to different size pads... some 6", some 5", some 4", and others - what sizes are recommended and why?

3. What types of pads are recommended?

Using Meguiars 21 Sealant, if that matters. Thanks - Lewis
 
It seems no one knows of a kit/package that includes pads and the Porter Cable 7424XP that's a stand out value over buying things separately.

I was hoping there'd ne a few suggestions, but will evaluate separate purchases.

I believe it will be PC 7424, mounting plate, counter-weight, maybe 3 different types of pads, pad cleaners, an extension cord, and of course the polish. Looks like 5" or 6" pads are average used. - Lewis
 
sometimes it's better to buy the polisher by itself, instead of kits as some of the items you may not use (order products seperately). these two kits are good ones and all the items are useful...

Lewis, we could just give ya a list of stuff that would get you started, but... You should really take the time to do some serious reading about how to properly polish your car. Everything you need to know is here; you just gotta read it.



By the time you've read enough to know how to properly polish your car, you'll find that *you* are perfectly able to answer all of your questions about *what* to buy, and *how* to use it.



Polishing your car safely and getting great results requires much more skill and knowledge than you would initially think.
 
It would never hurt to create your own kit and then ask a seller to price it assuming they sell everything. I would think they would give you some discount.

right now i would rather own the pc7424xp than the griots. while stats show that it has more power, i would want to see the consensus on it before spending all that money on one, and not to mention the PC has been tried and true for many years...
