What pad should I be using for Poorboy's polish with sealant/Carnauba? A polishing pad or a finishing pad?

Vehicle is silver with very, very light marring.

Thanks!

Are you wanting to try to remove the light marring? If so, the finishing pad, probably would not be the pad.

Kind of - more or less want to use it as a one step. If I used a polishing pad, would I need to follow up with a finishing pad?

If it were me........

I would use a white (polishing pad). Then if you want to add more protection use straight sealant or wax over waht you already did.

AS stated the polishing pad should be used on the first pass of the car, this will help cut some of the swirls and leave a real nice finish. If you want to do another pass with the same product use the finishing pad on low and that will help to fill in the swirls that are left, or you can do it by hand.

You can stop there but if you like P-w-C or S can be topped off for additional shine and protection

No, you should be able to one step it with that polishing pad. That combo should finish off nicely enough.

Agreed.

I think you'll like the PwS on silver. I've used in on the Wife's Silver Reflex (lots of metallic flake) with good results. I used both a light cut polishing pad and a blue polishing pad (for paint cleaning products) with good results.

I'm just guessin' here.

But again, I don't know. Just guessing.

I have really been wanting to try PwS along with PRC. I wish more places did sampling, Like putting there products in 4oz. or 8oz. bottles, or enough for one or two vehicles. I really like what ADS has going on. It's a good idea pro detailers could test, and your average joe could buy enough for his car, with out buying a gallon. :)

Steve did a detailing weekend (in NY, I think) a little while ago where people could not only test the products before buying, but get some "training" in how to use them properly.
When asked about the reason he didn't have sample sizes anymore (He did a few years ago as a special promo) he said it took too much time/effort to decant into the smaller bottles. (Not done at the factory, so he had to pour them all into small bottles himself.)
As to the gallon purchase, Poorboys (as well as most online vendors) have smaller sizes available (16oz, 32oz) so you wouldn't need to buy a gallon at the start to try out a product.

Yes, we had the 4oz sizes for trial at the Poorboy's detailing weekend and we are going to release 4oz sample sizes very soon ... making smaller labels is not as easy as you think. As Bigleegr said , these are labor intensive and won't be cheap or cost effective for most, but for those who want to sample a product or more they will be available very soon ... I can already tell you Pockets is not looking forward :wall to these as he is the intensive laborer :lol2::rofl:lol2:
