Paul Dalton selling business? Or has he just lost it?

I follow miracle detail on Facebook and Instagram, mostly because I enjoy his work. Don’t always agree with his methods but he’s always been very good. So I don’t get what’s going on but it does make for interesting reading!

Unless you are a true Autopian who has been around awhile on this forum, the name Paul Dalton may not register with many of you newbies. He is (was?) a top-notch professional detailer that has developed some VERY expensive custom-blended waxes, like Crystal Rock, sold through SwissVax.

NO, he is NOT the lead guitarist for Led Zepplin.

Yeah, I know who Paul Dalton is. I`m asking you members who are on Facebook to fill in those of us who don`t partake in that particular vice.

He`s said some things about Paint Technology and Detailing in general that simply were not credible, so I for one couldn`t care less about him.

I`m glad he`s had a successful career doing what he likes and that his customers are happy, but, well... "It`s [the internet], Jake..."

He`s flipped his lid---going on and on about how he discovered or invented many detail processes and products, how Rupes, Swisswax, Sonax, etc had signed contracts with him which they didn`t honor, etc, etc
Now saying he is suing them, etc.
Going after those big of companies, better to shut up and let the legal eagles handle, but also have very deep pockets.
Simply put, what is being seen is a mental melt down.

Sounds like a classic “I’ve developed all this stuff working with big brands but have now just realised I’ve been taken for a ride”.

He’d be a richer man had he made his own products earlier.

Partially justified meltdown.

He might be exaggerating or he could have been taken for a ride by someone. There are situations where it`s best to keep quiet and let the dust settle. Most likely, he`s just running his mouth like a big shot trying to get attention.

Yeah I think he has definitely lost it a bit. I do know him and Rupes have some bad blood from the past but now all of a sudden all these other brands have taken him for a ride supposedly. Oh well, doesn`t effect my day to day business.

Its is unfortunate to see him like this though.

Well that`s a good thing because that would be Jimmy Page.

He`s been inspired by the "Donald".

Or he could just be having a sh*tty time right now and be mad that people whom he thought would be loyal because of a perceived relationship, that wasn`t actually there?

Guys obviously having a tough time, give him a break. Were all human.

Well I just saw he was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday. Not sure for what but they said he will be fine. I know he has breathing issues.

I remember years ago that he was doing high end (scammish) details where he`d hand rub waxes into the paint. He always came off to me as someone who was a slick talker who knew how to rub egos of people who had more money than brains. Could just be a case of karma.

I hardly think he was the only one doing the "hand waxing" at the time, that was a thing for a while. I also remembering him deserving more credit than you give him as a detailer...as far as "slick talking" you`ve at least got to be slick enough to win the confidence of someone who is going to let you touch their $200,000 to $1,000,000+ car.

But what do I know, I never have really followed his career, I`m just going from what I remember when he used to post on here a decade or more ago.
