Paste Wax and the PC

What about using the PC with paste wax, do you dip it out with a plastic spoon or similar item or is it just for liquids.

I have also known people to just use a butter knife and spread the wax on the pad as you would butter bread. Seems like that would work too

I usually use either a plastic razor blade (from AutoInt, handy things to have around) or a rubber spatula. After you get the wax on the pad, use the [whatever tool] to scrape off as much as you can. You don't need much wax on the pad at all.

That techniques works great. However with certain waxers, like #16, you cant just "plop" it out of the can. I have used the butter knife technique with success with #16, and the "plop out and spread" (did that sound really bad? LOL ;-)) method with S100.

FYI, 4" pads will fit inside a can of #16. If you have a PC, pick up a 3.5" backing plate and a 4" SFX finishing pads. Just put the pad in the can of wax and give the ON/OFF switch a quick flick, and you're ready to wax. I use 4" pads both with my PC, and with a small cordless Nikota buffer that I picked up . . . makes using #16 a joy.
