Car: 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo Station Wagon w/ 240,000km

Paint: Black Single Stage

Condition: Hammered.

I started off with cleaning the wheels with Meguiars Wheel Brightener with a variety of brushes, followed by cleaning the tires with APC and the wheel well's with APC.

Washed with Shampoo Plus and clayed with Shampoo Plus as lube.

Dried with leafblower and Waffle-weave MF.

I knew I would have to get aggressive with this paint due to the defects present, I began with M95/OrangeCCS on my test panel and it did well. I followed with SIP/WhiteCCS to remove the marring that M95 created. I polished with 106FF/BlueCCS to reveal an excellent finish. The LSP of choice was Collinite 845IW.

You can see the dullness in the paint, it was covered in swirls and RIDS. Covered in overspray aswell.

It was a grey trim, and didn't respond to anything so during my second wash I scrubbed it all down with APC, and left it at that.

That is amazing, I cannot wait until someone with an old Volvo comes to me asking for me to detail it. And I hear you on that trim: I did a V70 about a year ago, that trim was brutal!

I have an 850R, and I taped off the trim and resprayed. Had 2, the trim on the car fades so bad that your left no choice. like the quarter glass trim on a 90 mustang. Great job on the turbo, thats a beast of a family sedan.
