Warren (son) and I did some touch up work on his car yesterday ~ the front bumper coating had faded away until all there was was yellow primer. We had to sand a bit with 220, then 1000 grit to remove what I described as "furry feeling junk" :)

This picture is the before -- even before washing!! YUK!!!!!!

And here's the after -- we had washed -- painted the bumper with Dupli-Color Bumper Coating that we got at Walmart.

Wow! Much better!!

Still alot to do -- sand and paint wheels, need to work on the paint with Perfect-It II - there are no swirl marks, but the paint is not so great, then we plan to use Mequire's Show Car Glaze and top with Carnauba.

BTW -- The VW in the background of the first pictures is one of our projects with a LLLLoooonnnnggg way to go; and the 740 Volvo in the 2nd pic is the one that was wrecked and is on it's way to Volvo heaven.

So many projects.....so little time!! :D

V4M,

Terrific job! Isn't it amazing what some good prep and a little paint will do?

P.S. - How about all this rain we're getting over the past few days? Not a drop for weeks then one storm system after another.

Thanks, bret! I love taking this "beater" and making it into something a 16 yr. old will be happy to drive!!

Tell me about it!! And it seems to decide to storm about 15 minutes into me starting to work on Warren's car -- which isn't under cover!! Oh well, maybe we won't get water restriction this year! :nixweiss
