Can someone recommend a OTC paint stripper. I have some valve covers that are painted black from the factory. I want to remove the paint and polish them. But first the hard part, getting the paint off.

Air Craft Remover. It is available at Pepboy's and most automotive paint supply stores.

I second Danase's recommendation ..this stuff strips paint like crazy...I even bought it at wal mart ..stuff cuts right thru paint...

If you have a bench grinder..get a sisal polishing wheel and a stick of compound and polishing material and it will come out like a mirror...can get all at Home Depot or Lowes....

The problem with *most* painted engine pieces is they are baked on. Even the strongest paint stripper wont work.

I sandblasted my rims and in the end wished I had gone with Aircraft stripper. It was a ***** sanding all those spokes and wells. So Id say go with the aircraft stuff

Your right, I tried the Aircraft Paint Stripper, It took about 60% of the paint off, I used 1 can per valve cover and left it on for about 30 minutes. I'm going to get the rest off by media blasting. I cant wait to start polishing them.
