Paint question

OK, my first official post and I hope it is in the correct place.



I have been used to buffing my 2003 Pontiac GTP and I am now looking to do the same to my wife's 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. I have been doing a lot of reading on here and from what I gather there is no one manufacturer's paint that is the same as the other. Generally speaking, is a Hyundai paint significantly softer than GM's paint? I am guessing not, but I don't want to treat this car like the other one if I need to be aware of something.

First off they're too very different year models to begin with.



You're talking about comparing 7 year old GM paint to a different and newer 1 year old Hyundai paint so it's really going to be anybody's guess. Also sometimes different colors can have different hardness to them even for the same make/model and year.



I would say just play with it and find out.
