Paint issues with a 2011 Satin White Pearl STI, video/pics inside

I did a quick wash, clay, sealant on a friends 2011 STI last week. While I was working on the hood we found these issues. I think its acid rain etching, but the weird thing is its only in this one area. You can't feel it. I didnt have enough time while I was down there to fix it. But would wet sanding remove them?

Could have been a big bird 'bomb', might have sat on the paint for a bit while the car sat at the dealership? I've experienced that localized etching before (example below) and it was removed by compounding, didn't need to break out the sand papers.

That's exactly what I was going to say. No doubt it would sand out, but compound alone should be sufficient.

I've seen those same marks on my STi... They came out after a little 2 step polishing.
