Hi gurus...I'll be heading back to my home country in 1 month's time. I will be detailing both my parents' cars. They rarely wash it and not to mention waxing it when I'm away for exactly 1 year. I'm not too sure what to start off with to do paint cleansing. Should I use Meguiar's Clear Coat Body Scrub to remove the contaminants first? Or should I use Zaino's clay bar to do the job? I'm thinking of using CCBS so that I won't contaminate the clay bar so soon. What do you think?
After all these, I will use Autoglym Super Resin Polish and top it up with Extra Gloss Protection...hopefully it should be fine.
I would definitely use clay, especially if the paintwork is not kept clean. I cannot comment on the body scrub as I have not used it nor can I remember to many comments about it.
It might be worth looking at some Clearkote from Alex at
On the other hand, if the paint is ok, maybe claying and then Autoglym might be enough. Although the Resin is a mild polish, applying greater pressure will remove more.
I agree, use clay to remove grittiness and contamination, not a polish (which is what Body Scrub is, despite its cleansing-sounding name ). After claying follow up with an appropriate polish, which may or may not be Body Scrub since it's supposed to be stronger. (Try a search for Body Scrub.)
