To strip the protection off, you can use a soap at paint prep ratio (such as CG Citrus Wash & Gloss), an AIO, or something like P21s TAW.

Just get some plain rubbing alcohol (IPA) from any drug store.
You can cut the alcohol 50/50 or use it straight. Wipe down the whole hood if you plan to polish or wax, if not, just wipe down the area you are working on. And no it will not hurt your paint. I have used gallons of IPA. Zaino is a tough sealant, so you may want to do several wipe downs. It will remove it from you paint and leave a squeaky clean surface for the touch up paint to bond. Prep Sol works great also. Walmart has a brand called Prep All, both are also good for preping paint.
