Pads Stained from Single Stage Paint

So I polished a red Trans Am with single-stage paint recently and my pads are stained red.

I've soaked them twice and tried to get the staining out but it's not happenin.

Just wondering if it's ok to use these pads again or should I chuck them?

Thanks :)

While you might not want to use them on ss white paint, I've never had any issues from the residual pigment transfer on my pads.

I have heard that if you clean them and they are just stained they are still ok to use. i am not exactly sure though, you could clean them and try them on somthing like a beater or somthing and see if it still works the same.

Thanks for the replies guys :)

I guess I'll buy some new ones just in case.

Love you avatar White Lexus.

try some Dawn Power Disolver on them, if that doesn't get it out, nothing will.

I've only worked on the Toyota Supra SS black paint, and after each of those, I toss the pads they are so bad. I'm not sure how other cars transfer but I would imagine SS is all the same.

there's nothing wrong at all with using stained pads. It doesn't make them less effective. AS long as they are clean they are good to go. Stains don't matter
