pads after polishing SS paint

After polishing single stage paint, the pads should have paint on them right? Can you wash the paint off, or do the pads have to be thrown out?

If you can wash them, what do you wash them with?

Yes, paint transfer is very normal while working with single stage paint. I use regular laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid (Dawn, etc) and hand wash them in hot water in the sink. If all of it doesn't come out, it may take 2-3 washes.

Even when the paint stains the pad permanently, it's never been a problem for me. The ss paint is soft, it's not like using the stained pad will result in micromarring or anything.

I usually keep my ss-use pads separate, but I've used them (even the awful looking ones) on b/c without any problems.

But it usually washes out anyhow.
