Pad surface imperfections?

I recently ordered some white 6.5" pads from CMA, and upon unpacking noticed that one of them does not have a perfectly concave polishing surface. It has a perhaps 3.5" long, 1 mm high, and 6mm wide bump running across it, slightly offset from the center.

Is this normal, not normal but not an issue, or should I ask for an exchange?

I doubt that it'll cause a functional problem, but theoretically you might get product build-up/caking around the raised area and/or uneven contact. I'd call them up and see if they'll replace it. Given the cost of shipping/etc. I wouldn't be too surprised if they sent you a new one and told you to keep the "defective" one. Terry and the folks at CMA are pretty swell when it comes to customer service, especially if you're nice about it.

Would I use it? Yeah. Would I use it for the final polish on my S8? Uhm...probably not.
