Pad sizes, Backing Plates, Confusion!

I used to have no problem finding Mequires Final Inspection, but now I can't find it in the local auto stores I used to see it in (Trenton, NJ). It seems like its been replaced by Mequiers Quick Detailer on the shelves. A "search" on this board revealed that they are not the same product, and FI is preferred.

Anyone know if FI is on its way out, or have you guys just made it so popular that it doesn't stay on the shelves?

[/b]</blockquote>I've noticed the same trend here in Omaha . . . most of the parts stores carried Meguiar's "consumer" (red bottle) line, along with a few of the professional products, usually the #00 wash, #26 wax, FI, and a couple of plastic polishes. Over the last couple of years, those stores have dropped nearly all of the pro-line products. This seems to be more a result of Meguiar's marketing of its consumer line (and the fact that stores only have so much shelf space) rather than a "phasing out" of FI.

I finally found a reliable local supply of FI (along with the rest of Meguiar's professional products) at a local automotive paint store . . . if there's one in your area, you might give that a try.

Good luck finding a source near you,
Tort

Either one of the gallon deals is good. It is much better than paying $5 or $6 for a 16oz bottle. With the gallon, you get more product, and it saves you some $$$.

Some folks have been calling me about backing plates and Pads so here is a chart for some of you wonder about them. Different size's and pads are a little confusing for some of you beginner's so I hope this will put you in the right direction.
