Does anyone clean their pads with spurs/nylon brush only? Say you have a dedicated pad for one produt only, can you just say spur the pad, let what's left dry, and then spur again before next use?
I don't own a spur but have thought about getting one. But to tell the truth, I have excellent cleaning results by putting my pad in a sink full of warm water and a little Dawn (cheapo brands don't work by the way) and letting it soak for 15 minutes or so while doing some other little job on my car. I then brush the pad with a horsehair brush gently (you don't want to tear the pad or break down the structural integrity of the foam) while the pad is UNDER WATER in the sink. I then rinse with warm water and put the pad back on my PC for a good spin at speed 6 to take the water out and set out to dry. The drying is remarkably quick and the pad is totally clean. The key is to do the brushing under water so that loosened product floats away immediately.
Sorry, I meant for rotary use only. Even when using the PC I'll put the pad on the rotary to clean it every couple of panels. I just thought that if I have pads for dedicated products, I could get by without all the washing. Seems like I can so that'll save some time
