Hello,

I've read a lot about what products many of you like to use, but I'd like an opinion on what you guys think is best with the products that I currently have.

I have a 65 GTO that I painted in December. I used the ppg concept line (red jewel tincoat). Its a dark faintly metallic red. I put on 4 coats of clear anticipating some orange peel and wet sanding. Heres what I have done.

Wet sanded by hand with 1500, DA with abralon 2000 and 4000. M105 on a surbuf pad.

The scratches came out great, but there is some marring from the 105. Now WWYD?

I have the following.

polishes: M105, M205, Menzerna 85rd

pads: lake country CCS orange, white, black, blue all 6.5

lake country flat pads black and blue

surbuf pads

I will be using a Griots DA.

I was thinking M205 on white pad followed by Menzerna 85 on a flat black.

opinions please.

Welcome to Autopia!! Sounds like a great project to work on! How about posting up some pictures for us to drool over??

Here's what I'd recommend after your M105/SurBuf step:

M105 with Meg's MicroFiber DA pad - (I gaurantee once you try these pads you'll love them)

Menzerna 85rd with Lake Country white or black thin and flat foam.

M105 should easily refine the hazing that the SurBuf pad made and it will create a great finish in itself. Then just a light jeweling with 85rd and you go the money shot for sure! I prefer 5 inch pads btw...

Here's some threads on the subject that might help:
