oxidised

I recently bought a car that was completely oxidised first thing i did was wash it and watch the oxidation run off now after i have gone over it with rubbing compound and polished it several times it is still oxidising how do i stop this happening :help:

It isn't usually possible to wash oxidation off, you may be able to scrub off some chalky residue, but not have it "run off" the car. You say it is still oxidizing after you polish, how long does that take? Are you putting any kind of protectant (wax, sealant) on after you polish? What products/methods are you using? Do you have any pictures?

Rotary buffer with a cutting pad and compound will be the only way to fix it.

The oxidation "running off" is just the water playing tricks. When water is on the car it looks good but as soon as it dries it goes white again.

This is similar to when you wet sand a car. With water it actually looks really good, but once the surface dries it is complletely faded and the panel is usually white.

I have been using turtle wax rubbing compound and turtle wax paste polish, and i have not used any kind of sealant

It sounds like you have single stage paint...no clearcoat. SS paints need slightly different care than clear coated paints because without the clear, oxidation shows itself much quicker (CC paints also oxidize, but due to their nature, it isn't nearly as visible, nearly as fast).

There are far less aggressive (yet far more effective) compounds and polishes on the market than the TW. A sealant or wax is especially important on a single-stage paint, because without it, all the work you've done to bring the paint back to excellent condition is wasted since there is nothing to slow down the onset of new oxidation, making the car look faded and dull all over again in almost no time.
